The most common paid valuation plans are Full Value Protection and Items of Extraordinary Value Declaration. If an item were to sustain damage or get lost during a move under the Full Value Protection level of coverage, the moving company would have to repair, replace, or reimburse you for the affected item’s fair market value.

The Items of Extraordinary Value Declaration protects items valued at $100 or more per pound. These items, such as jewelry, artwork, and electronics, are listed on the declaration, along with their condition and value. This is for your safety and protection, but taking as many of your valuable items as possible during the move is also recommended to avoid potential damages and lost items.
